Vascular & Body Interventional Radiology
Precision access, across the body.
Department Family: Interventional & Procedural Medicine
Image-guided diagnosis and treatment throughout the body: biopsy, drainage, embolisation, ablation, and vascular access, alongside the management of peripheral arterial and venous disease.
This division performs a large share of the platform's delivery procedures, for a straightforward reason — placing a therapy precisely is the same technical problem as placing a needle or catheter precisely, and it is performed by the same operators on the same equipment. It also treats peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischaemia, including patients whose anatomy or comorbidity places them beyond bypass and endovascular options, where the alternative is usually amputation.
