Regenerative Cell Therapy
A product that can be tested before it is given.
Department Family: Immune, Musculoskeletal & Regenerative Medicine
Cell-based treatment using multilineage stress-enduring cells and their secreted factors, across orthopaedic, ischaemic, and inflammatory indications.
Cell products can be characterised, tested, and released against identity and potency specifications before administration — a different and, in some settings, stronger safety position than introducing a vector into the body and observing what follows. The division also distinguishes between treatments where the cells themselves must engraft and those where the therapeutic effect is paracrine, because the two have different requirements and very different evidence behind them.
