Veterinary Oncology
Precision diagnosis before precision treatment.
Department Family: Companion Animal Medicine
Cancer diagnosis, staging, and treatment in companion animals, including surgical, medical, and image-guided approaches.
Canine and feline cancers are among the best-characterised spontaneous tumours in any species, and several — osteosarcoma, haemangiosarcoma, lymphoma, mast cell tumour — have molecular profiles that make targeted approaches rational rather than speculative. The division combines conventional oncological care with tumour genomic profiling, and with investigational work where a specific molecular target has been identified in that animal's tumour rather than assumed from its diagnosis.
